‘The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera’. These
words of photographer Dorothea Lange resonate with me because my interest in filmmaking and photography really has changed how I look at the world around me.
Since completing a degree in photography, film and imaging, I have developed a career as a videographer and architectural photographer. The technical and creative skills I have developed enable me to capture my vision of the world around me. I love taking photos and making videos and I especially love finding compositions and angles that show the interesting shapes and light that I experience and enjoy. I have spent the last two decades travelling around the whole of the UK trying to do just that while photographing properties.
There is an art and a craft to photographing buildings and people moving around them in such a way as to make them feel interesting, lively and dynamic. It is a challenge and a joy to take everyday buildings that people would walk or drive past without giving them a thought and to turn those buildings into something that captures the attention of the viewer. That is the challenge I love and I always give full effort to shoot each property to its maximum potential and ensure my images are truly engaging.
